Primers for porous surfaces. Gripset GP, a water-based primer and bonding agent, Mapei Primer G ahead of self-levellers and screeds, RLA Primer PU for commercial tiling and waterproofing, and Gripset P39.
Primers for smooth and non-porous surfaces. Gripset OP and Gripset SP for metal, glazed tile and dense surfaces, and Mapei Eco Prim Grip for bonding to glazed tiles and polished concrete. Mapei Eco Prim T Plus suits low-porosity substrates including anhydrite screeds.
Fast-drying and moisture control. Gripset Xpress Primer H2O Plus lets waterproofing follow sooner, and Gripset E60 is an epoxy primer and moisture barrier for damp slabs and rising damp.
Additives. Ardex WPM 405 and RLA Plastinex (20L or 4 x 5L) improve flexibility, adhesion and water resistance in cement mixes. RLA Quick Set shortens setting time, and Ardex Grout Booster upgrades Ardex grouts.
Not sure if a surface is porous? Put a few drops of water on it. If they soak in, use a primer for porous surfaces; if they bead up, use one for non-porous surfaces.
